Wherein I Explain the Origins of this Blog

Holly Golightly: You ever lift anything from a five-and-dime shop?

Paul Varjak: Certainly not. I was the sensitive bookish type.

My name is Madeline, and I am the loud bookish type.  I enjoy reading books and then ranting about them to anyone who will listen. If you do too, let’s be friends.

I started this blog with the idea of using it to post my book reviews from Goodreads.com in order to gain a wider audience – I’ve been a member of the site since 2007, and so far have amassed more than 400 reviews. So the first few months of this blog will be me re-posting old reviews of books I’ve already read (in some cases, they’ll be books I haven’t read since high school, so the reviews posted here will come with some additional older-and-wiser hindsight – one hopes), while also trying to continue reviewing books as I read them. It’ll be kind of a mess for a while, but that’s what makes it fun.
